Frequently Asked Questions (and answers)

1. What is career coaching?

Career coaching can mean different things to different people. For me, career coaching is my ability to leverage my 3 Es (Education, Empathy and Experience) to help you:

  1. Clarify your purpose-aligned career vision

  2. Create an intentional career action plan

  3. Uplevel your career development (including job search) skills

  4. Optimize and embed success habits

  5. Mute your inner critic and imposter syndrome

2. Do I really need a career coach?

If you're not as successful as you would like to be or you feel like something is missing from your career, working with a career coach could be the right move for you.

Beyonce’ has a voice coach. Serena has a tennis coach. (I keep at least 2 coaches around me at any given time.) Working with a coach is the secret weapon for the highly successful.

As your career coach I'll give you a fresh and objective perspective on the current state of your professional life and use my deep HR and career knowledge and experience help you uncover what's holding you back from taking your career to the next level.

3. What makes you qualified?

I am a senior HR leader and certified coach and have been teaching leadership & career development strategies since 2010. I’ve had hundreds of career conversations with women like you from all walks of life, industries and experiences.

4. How much will it cost to work with you and do you offer refunds?

I have products and services to fit many budgets. Once we have our initial career breakthrough coaching session we can discuss pricing and payment options.

Due to the nature of the work I do, I cannot provide refunds. Coaching isn’t something you can “return” or “give back”.

5. What’s it like to work with you?

I expect my students and clients to commit to 100% participation and engagement to the process.

They are also expected to keep up with all scheduled appointments and homework assignments, have an open and positive mindset and feel empowered to use me as a resource to get their questions answered.

I also want there to be a clear understanding that you will only get from the coaching & classroom experience what you put in to it.

6. How is client information used? Is it confidential?

The confidentiality of your information as a Your Career Girl client, student and/or community member is of great importance to me. All coaching sessions, conversations, emails, questionnaires and career action plans are strictly confidential and are not shared in any way.
